The Elberton 12-County Fair
92 Years of Fun and Community, Still Solid as Granite
We love the Elberton 12-County Fair and it's one of my favorite events of the year!
Every night you can enjoy fun kids' rides, carnival games, live shows, food stalls, 4-H animal displays, and live music. It's just good old-fashioned fun for the whole family.
It's time again to play for the Elberton 12-County Fair! This year marks the 92nd anniversary and promises to bring thrills, chills and lots of exciting family entertainment that will treat the whole family. Friends, neighbors, work colleagues and family are sure to agree, this is one of the best county fairs in the entire State of Georgia!
The fair staff and management, along with the Elbert County Extension, 4-H and many other local organizations, have worked hard all year to plan the best county fair we've ever seen in Elbert County. Come enjoy the attractions, exhibits and entertainment - all for a very affordable price!
This year, Dreamland Amusements, Inc. will be providing the rides, family games and food for the Midway.
Thursday, October 16th - Sunday, October 26th
Admission: $5.00 (Children 36" and under are Free)
Parking: $5.00 per vehicle
Ride Tickets:
- Unlimited Ride Wristbands - $30
- 1 Ride Ticket - $1.50
- 20 Ride Tickets - $30
- 50 Ride Tickets (Includes one free ride) - $60
**Rides DO require multiple tickets.**
I have personally found that the best value seems to be purchasing the Unlimited Wristbands, especially if your kiddos want to get on more than 4 rides. Rides cost anywhere from 3 to 5 tickets each.
When to Arrive
- Weekdays: 5:00pm
- Saturdays: 12:00pm
- Sundays: 2:00pm
Closing Time: 11pm
Spectacular Rides
There are soooo many spectacular rides, it is difficult to decide which one to try next! Fortunately, my kiddo was at least 36" tall last year, so most of the rides he wanted to try, he qualified to get on. His favorites included the Wacky Worm and the Monster Trucks, but they were almost all a win. With Firetrucks, Flying Jumbos and Helicopters too, he was well worn out by the end of the day. We did all go on The Wheel as a family and while my terror of heights was coupled with the horror of managing a squirming toddler, it certainly was a magnificent view!
Older kids might enjoy the Tornado, Scrambler, Zipper and more! Honestly, we will be going again this year and I have no doubt that we will find just as much to keep us occupied as we did last year. It was pretty tough to tear the little one away from the rides, but he was also completely enthralled with several of the fair games - mainly the one that was about catching ducks or the one using a fishing pole over a tiny pool.
One thing I would keep in mind is the height restrictions for certain rides. The good news is, if you have a tearful child on your hands over a ride rejection, there are several fun-houses to distract them. I would say that my son almost preferred the fun houses over the rides...ALMOST. Not quite. They were pretty cool little mazes and while kids of all ages and several accompanying adults were constantly cycling through, entry was easy and multiple explorations in a row were possible in short order.
Free with Admission
There are always several shows and live events that are included free with the price of admission. Shows are consistently ongoing, so it's possible to catch each one without too much planning or effort.
General Exhibits
If you need break from the heat or just need to locate the restrooms, you can duck into the exhibit hall! There are usually many different exhibits to browse, including farm equipment displays and handicrafts. There is often a band playing on the stage as well, with seating available to relax for a moment and listen to the music in the cool, shaded building.
Residents (including adults and children) of the 12 counties (see list below) are welcome to submit entries to exhibits! There are eight categories:
- Agricultural
- Arts & Crafts
- Clothing
- Canning
- Prepared Foods
- Horticulture
- Needlecraft
- Quilting & Afghans
To enter an exhibit, you should reside in the Greater Elberton 12-County Fair Area, consisting of the following counties:
- Georgia: Elbert, Hart, Franklin, Madison, Banks, Oglethorpe, Wilkes, Lincoln, Clarke and Stephens
- South Carolina: Anderson & Abbeville
Entries will be received starting prior to the fair opening each day. Simply visit the fairgrounds and submit your entry.
All entries will remain on display through Sunday night, October 26th, 2025.
Exhibits and booths may be removed from the exhibit building between 9am and 6pm on certain days (will update here as we know more).

Food
As usual, there will be plenty of vendors offering traditional fair foods like funnel cakes and hot dogs. Last year, Simply Us Catering was also present with some delicious 'real food' as well. ;) Deep fried everything (including french fries), sno cones and candy apples abound, but there are plenty of unusual finds as well, including authentic offerings for several different cuisines. You'll certainly have plenty of choices if you end up needing to feed the ravenous young ones in between! There is even a giant lemon that serves - you guessed it, lemonade; the stand itself is a talking point! 🍋
